This isn’t very useful as the Netherlands and Namibia come out on top.

Here we have the four semi-finalists of the World Cup at the top.

Next we move to the individual performances, starting with

Batting:

Most runs (600 or more):

RG Sharma, V Kohli and SD Hope lead by a big margin.

Sharma has the most centuries (7) followed by Kohli (5).

The most scores of 50+ were by Sharma (13) followed by Kohli and Hope with 12 apiece.

Highest innings scores (120 or more):

Led by the relatively lesser-known JD Campbell. There are several other scores above 150.

Highest batting averages (Min 20 innings, all instances):

Hope, Babar Azam and Kohli are close together at the top.

Highest strike rates (Min 500 balls faced, 90.00):

Here we have some other names at the top such as JJ Roy, who is considerably ahead of EJG Morgan. While Kohli is here, others who scored the most (RG Sharma and SD Hope) did not score fast enough. There is one player (N Zadran) from Afghanistan.

Continuing with the individual performances of the year:

Rashid Khan has the best average and strike rate, while his teammmate Mujeeb has the best economy rate.

Fielding:

Most dismissals:

While Buttler has the most dismissals overall, his teammate Roy has the most catches as a non-keeper. Dhoni has the most stumpings.

Dismissal rate (20 innings or more):

Buttler and Roy again head these lists.

All-round performances (overall, see criteria in table):

While there are multiple instances by Shakib and Sikandar, they did not play enough to get into the above table.

Unusual dismissals-obstructing the field

One of the sore points of India’s defeat in the Asia Cup final against dismissal was the unusual dismissal (obstructing the field) of Anuja Patil for 3. She thus became the first player to be so dismissed in a women’s T20I match.

There is no such instance in women’s Tests.

There is one instance in ODIs, again from India. D Kamini (2) was dismissed the same way against the West Indies in 2016.

This mode of dismissal is quite rare in men’s cricket too.

Tests: Only one instance, Len Hutton (27), E v SA in 1951.

ODIs: 6 instances, starting with Ramiz Raja (99) against England in 1987. This was in an ODI series after the 1987 World Cup. The last instance was by Ben Stokes, E v A in 2015.

T20Is: Only one instance, Jason Roy (67), E v SA in 2017.
