We now look at individual bowling records.
Most wickets (40 and above):
Sir Richard is far ahead of the next in line, Botham, Broad and Anderson. Sir Richard has the most 5-fors followed by Botham and Underwood with 6. Underwood has the most 10-fors (3) followed by 2 by Sir Richard and Tony Lock.
Best innings bowling (including all 7-fors):
Underwood and Lock have the best figures here. Nothing much from the past few years.
Best match bowling (including all 10-fors):
Underwood and Lock share the first 5 positions-probably they made the best of damaged wickets. As above, not much from recent years.
Bowling averages (Minimum 2000 balls, all instances):
Again a one-man show by Underwood. He has the best bowling average (12.20), best economy rate (1.66) and best strike rate (44.1). The nearest rivals include Willis, Ray Illingworth and Broad.
Fielding: Most dismissals (25 and above):
Parore has the most dismissals, Evans the most stumpings and Fleming the most catches by a non-keeper. Bob Taylor and Ian Smith are close behind Parore.
Innings dismissals (5 and above):
The now-forgotten Chris Read is the only one with 6 dismissals in an innings, followed by several others with 5. No non-keeper has taken 5 or more catches. Bairstow (or YJB if you wish) took 5 catches in the second Test of the series.
Match dismissals (6 and above):
Parks and Read have the most dismissals in a match. Lamb and Cook have the most (6) by a non-keeper. And YJB has 6 catches in the second Test of this series.
Dismissal rate (Minimum 20 innings fielded, minimum rate 0.800):
Smith, Parore and Bob Taylor lead. Fleming has the best by a non-keeper, though Stewart has done better with a combination of keeping and fielding.
All-round overall performance (see criteria below):
Botham is clearly the best here, while Sir Richard and Cairns (junior) are distant runners-up.
All-round match performance (minimum one fifty and one five-for in same match):
A long list here, including 3 examples of the rare 50 + 10wm by Greig, Hadlee and Nash.
Also 2 examples of the more common 100 + 5wi by Botham (twice).
Southee features in the current series as well as the last occasion in 2008. In 2008 he was making his Test debut.
