Tourist brochures of the past

In the 1920s and 30s the Indian Railways was actively involved in promoting tourism in the Raj. There was a Central Publicity Bureau in the Railway Board which produced brochures for tourists. Here are some of the brochures which were depicted in the Annual Reports of the Indian Railways.

  1. What an exotic and sanitised version of India! I see the various different Railways of India get no credit for accessing these wonders, even the Darjeeling railway which was an independent company until Government takeover 2 years after Partition is claimed by the State.
